The Manfrotto 700RC2 is the most fluid head that I carry but it is also the most heavy and bulkiest. Things I like about it are the ultra smooth fluid movements both panning and tilting. The thing I don't like is it does not have a 3rd axis adjustment so to level the camera you have to adjust the legs, which is just a little more work. If I was filming relatively close to the truck on flat ground this would be my choice. For backpacking I like to take the Promaster 6160.
The Manfrotto 700RC2 compact video head is designed to support the latest ultralight Mini-DV camcorders as well as still cameras with medium and long telephoto lenses. It includes a fixed length pan arm and separate locking mechanisms for the 360° pan and the -75° to +90° tilt movements.
