Description Technical Specs

The Promaster XC525C is definitely our favorite all around tripod. While it's not the lightest tripod we carry, it is probably the most feature rich. Excellent build quality, 3 position leg locks, and a ball head included. The ball head weighs 12oz, a little heavy but good quality if that's what you are looking for. We recommend using one of our pan heads. The XC525C also has a detachable leg that can be used as a monopod or walking stick.

This tripod is exceptionally well built and just what I have been looking for to carry in my pack for my spotting scope. Cannot wait to use it during archery season here in Montana.

Lives up to it's reputation June 29, 2017

After calling the store and speaking to Steve about my requirements and expected use, I took Steve's advice and pulled the trigger on this tripod. Never having seen one up close, I didn't know what to expect.

Once it arrived, I knew I'd made the right decision. It's very light but is robust and well built. As a backpack hunter, saving weight is key and this tripod fits the bill while providing a super stable and fully adjustable base for my ATX 85 spotter.

The removable mono-pod is an added bonus.

If you intend to use this tripod strictly for spotting scope use, you may be happy with the supplied head. I'd suggest you try it first before buying a different head. If you're using binos on the tripod, I'd buy a head with a handle for movement, something like the Benro S2.

Super fast postage too. All in all, great service.

Thanks, Steve, I couldn't be happier. Be sure to get in touch when you're heading Down Under.

Couldn't be happier May 18, 2017

I searched for quite a while and thanks to S&S archery blog and YouTube channel I was able to decide. I couldn't justify a gitzo so I stumbled upon S&S tripod review and it made it easy. I love this tripod because one of the legs now becomes my center pole for my tarp. Another thing is I love how this tripod packs down small enough to strap to my pack yet gets tall enough I can stand up and glass. Great buy, thanks S&S archery
