S&S Archery began in the fall of 2008 as a long time desire of mine to own and operate an archery shop. I had developed a pretty decent reputation for working on and tuning bows and decided to go all in and give it a try as a career. I had to start small and opened up out of my garage working in the evenings and weekends. Over the last two years S&S Archery has grown by leaps and bounds, mostly through word of mouth as my advertising budget was quite small. Through the use of a few internet forums like archerytalk.com I began selling products online and as that continued to grow over the winter of 2009 I started developing and working on sandsarchery.com. My goal was to bring my product knowledge and customer service to a much larger community. Although probably not the best overall business decision I have decided not to put every product on the market on my site. I am going to concentrate on products I use and test that way when you call and have a question I will have the answer. For example I may not know everything about Badlands and Blacks Creek packs but I can guarantee if you have a question about an Eberlestock pack I can answer it. For 2011 I have some awesome projects that I am working on and am really excited about. First, in 2010 my hunting partner Lenny Nelson and I started up Pure Elevation Productions. Our goal was to film our backcountry elk and deer hunts bringing something to the hunting video market that just isn't there. Ultimately we want to show all of the work, the highs, the lows and everything else that goes into a hunting season. Our first DVD has been out since March of 2011, and is much more about the journey than the actual kill shot. We are proud to be a part of the Full Draw film tour that will tour through Oregon, Idaho, Washington and Montana later in the spring of 2012. It will showcase the work of a few different small film companies and all the proceeds go to the Hunt of a Lifetime foundation. We are really excited to be a part of it. Lastly is to develop S&S Archery into a site based around the backcountry hunter who is looking for top quality, lightweight gear that can stand the abuse of hunting and hold up. I will be carrying tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, stoves and other gear that will make your hunt easier. Look for detailed information, tips and tactics in my blog, ultralighthunter.net. About me: First and foremost I am an avid bowhunter. Any free chance I get I'll be out in the woods chasing something with my bow and if I can't do that you'll find me working out in my shop at 2am tweaking something on my bow to make it shoot better. I am extremely fortunate to have grown up in Idaho, with all of the hunting opportunities we have it was pretty easy to get addicted to archery. From chasing turkey and bears in the spring to shooting 3d archery tournaments in the summer and antelope, elk and deer in the fall archery is easily a year round sport for me. There is never an off season. Thanks for visiting my site and I look forward to helping you out anyway I can. Feel free to call if you have any questions.
