S&S Archery began in the fall of 2008 as a long time desire of mine to own and operate an archery shop. I had developed a pretty decent reputation for working on and tuning bows and decided to go all in and give it a try as a career. I had to start small and opened up out of my garage working in the evenings and weekends. Over the last eight years S&S Archery has grown by leaps and bounds, mostly through word of mouth as my advertising budget was quite small. Through the use of a few internet forums like archerytalk.com I began selling products online and as that continued to grow over the winter of 2009 I started developing and working on sandsarchery.com. My goal was to bring my product knowledge and customer service to a much larger community.

One of the things we really focus on here at S&S Archery is using the products that we sell. We want to be able to give you an honest opinion of a product that you are looking at and based off your information recommend the best product for you.

Currently S&S Archery is made up of two employees, Myself (Steve Speck) and my sister Jen Turner. Jen runs all of the customer service and shipping.

About me:

First and foremost I am an avid bowhunter. Any free chance I get I'll be out in the woods chasing something with my bow and if I can't do that you'll find me working out in my shop at 2am tweaking something on my bow to make it shoot better. I am extremely fortunate to have grown up in Idaho, with all of the hunting opportunities we have it was pretty easy to get addicted to archery. From chasing turkey and bears in the spring to shooting 3d archery tournaments in the summer and antelope, elk and deer in the fall archery is easily a year round sport for me. There is never an off season.

I also have a bad case of self prescribed ADHD and always have to be doing something. In 2010 I started and developed Solid Broadhead Company. After getting that company off the ground I sold it to Elite Archery (The Outdoor Group) in early 2011. I am still heavily involved in the design and development of the broadheads.

Most recently with the help of my good friend and hunting partner Lenny Nelson we started up Exo Mountain Gear. The goal was to make hunting packs that were designed specifically for the needs we had as backcountry hunters; lightweight, durable, versatile and comfortable. Exo Mountain gear just entered into its second year of business and we are extremely excited for the future.

Some of the other projects I have going on are Pure Elevation Productions and the NW Mountain Challenge 3d Archery shoot. Pure Elevation is currently making short films that can be viewed on our website www.pure-elevation.com. The NW Mountain Challenge is an archery shoot that I put on with a local Boise company Dead On Archery, its a way for both of us to give back to the archery community donating to the Hunt of a Lifetime foundation.

Thanks for visiting my site and I look forward to helping you out anyway I can. Feel free to call if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Steve Speck
